Bekstar is the alter ego of the writer Bek Paroz.
While Ms Paroz had a "proper" career as a Project Manager in the construction industry for the last 20+ years, Bekstar was the personality that learned to manage the outcomes of growing up in through domestic violence and being diagnosed with a crippling disease while still a teenager.
The Words of Bek captures her insights, journey, horror, and humour that encapsulates her life; including the solutions she found to live her life to the fullest. Her style is supportive, educational, conversational, practical, easy to read and designed to offer the lessons learnt throughout her tumultuous life for others to benefit from.
She believes in support - and the Words of Bek are designed to offer you self support - even if you have noone else supporting you right now.
Her formal training as a performance coach allows her to generate learning outcomes that create lasting change.
BekStar's blog is designed to be thought and conversation provoking.She believes that everyone needs the chance to live a full life no matter the circumstances they were born into or grew up in. The Words of Bek supports equality and fair debate.

Bek Paroz has numerous years of experience in engineering, construction, management and leadership. She has demonstrated her leadership skills through her involvement in mentoring and graduate training programs and in house workshops for many of her employers.
She has spent most of her career creating technical writing for a wide range of projects and operational environments and annoyed people by insisting on less jargon!
Bek has been a regular speaker at state and national industry conferences for many years now. Bek and her team won the QLD Project Management Achievement Award (Community Service) in 2012 for her volunteer work in the creation, execution and delivery of the IPMA Young Crew global workshop (2011).
She welcomes contact from anyone who wishes to use her skills in the creation of technical and creative texts.
